Colson scores win, tie over Elmtree, J&K Electric

AMHERST – Colson Overhead Doors widened their lead in the Amherst Adult Hockey League standings over the last week with one win and one tie.

The Doors dominated the Elmtree in a 9-4 win Tuesday at Amherst Stadium.

Ryan Reynolds led the Doors with three goals and two assists, while Brad Blenkhorn scored two goals and one assist, and Preston Burns had one goal and four assists.

Bill Jobes and Jarrod Fraser added one goal and one assist each, and Luke Crocker had one goal.  Scott Beed had two assists and Mike Gould had one assist.

Mitchell Tower had one goal and one assist for the Pub, while Seth Crowe, Russell Scott and Corey Skinner had one goal each.

Colson outshot the Pub 39-31. Steve Brown played in goal for Colson, Alex Legere for the Elmtree.

Colson vs. J&K Electric

Colson played on Sunday as well, tying J&K Electric 3-3.

Blenkhorn, Reynolds and Matt Colson scored for the Doors, with assists going to Randy Dunn with two, and Blenkhorn, Burns and Fraser collecting one assist each.

Adam MacDonald had two goals and one assist for the Electric, while Shane O’Byrne added one goal and one assist, and Justin Matthews had three assists.

The shot count was almost even as well. Brown faced 33 shots in goal for Colson, and Scott Clarke faced 32 shots playing in goal for J&K.

In other AAHL action it was the Elmtree beating Bluewave Energy 6-4.

John McNally scored two goals for the Pub, and Nick Dobson, Mike Hunter, Trevor Peterson and Skinner added one goal each.

Mike Archibald, Andy Bonnell and Peterson had two assists each, with Greg Brennan, Hunter, Scott, Skinner and Tower collecting one assist each.

Ian McCarthy and Victor Wright had one goal and one assist for Bluewave, and Patrick Crabbe and Jordie Fields added one goal each.

Stephen Pugsley faced 48 shots playing in goal for the Elmtree, and Gilles Hache faced 23 shots in nets for Bluewave.

Results from Thursday nights game between J&K and Bluewave was not available before the Amherst News went to press.

Colson Overhead Doors lead the AAHL standings with 32 points, J&K Electric has 26 points, Bluewave Energy has 25 points, and the Elmtree Pub has 15 points.

Matt Cormier leads the AAHL scoring race with 61 points in 22 games, followed by Justin Matthews with 56 points in 21 games, and Adam MacDonald with 46 points in 18 games.
