Lions double up on Cubs

Lions and Cubs shake hands after last nights game.

AMHERST – Y’s Guys pitcher Nate Stone struck out 12 batters and gave up four hits and three walks to lead his team to an 8-0 shutout of the Casey Concrete Mixers last night during Amherst Little League action.

Stone also scored two RBI’s off one triple and one single.

J.D. Pettigrew had two RBI’s for the Y’s Guys, off of two singles.

Jackson Comeau hit a triple, Brady Crowe hit a double and a single, and Tyler Baker hit one single. The three batters scored one RBI each for the Y’s Guys.

Riley Girouard pitched four innings for the Mixers and Jill Gallant came in for relief, pitching two innings.

They combined to strike out four batters, and gave up eight hits and four walks.

Jackson Colborne hit a triple for the Mixers, Jill Gallant hit a double, and Dylan Jolly and Girouard both hit one single.

Lions vs. Cubs

The Lions downed the Cumberland Paving Cubs 10-5 last night.

Michael Farrell pitched the entire game for the Lions, striking out 10 batters, while giving up two hits and seven walks.

Farrell hit a double and a single for the Lions, while Graden Chitty hit two singles, and Mats Stone, Jordan Mackenzie and Cole Stevens hit one single each.

Brandon Hicks pitched three innings for the Cubs, striking out two batters and giving up four hits and four walks.

Ethan Casey came in for relief, pitching two innings. He also struck out two batters, while giving up three hits and three walks.

Hicks and Reese McLean both hit one double for the Cubs.

Little league action continues Wednesday night.
