Evelyn Headley-Boutilier can be the best friend a girl ever had when it comes to contact with the criminal justice system. As the court worker for the Cape Breton branch of the Elizabeth Fry Society since 2004, Headley-Boutilier becomes a point of contact for all female offenders who appear daily in provincial court. She describes her job as offering everything from advocacy to explaining how the court process works and what some of the terms actually mean. Her greatest joy from her work is when she's able to help others feel comfortable and let them know there is someone listening.
