It's hard not to lament the end of summer - it comes and goes so quickly and there's just not enough swimming days or warm evenings to go around. Though, as much as there is to miss about summer, the nostalgic air of fall tends to bring about its own kind of warmth.

Harvest time and farmers markets, the crisp cool air and a hike to a favorite waterfall, colorful leaves and a drive through the Wentworth Valley, a trip with the kids to the River Breeze Corn Maze, or the anticipation of the great Tatamagouche Oktoberfest.

Summer ending is a new beginning. It's time to take a fresh look at the unique attractions and fall activities around us.

Some of the highest tides of the year occur in the fall…how about rafting? What are the animals at the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park doing at this time of the year? Fossil and rock hounding in Parrsboro or Joggins anyone? Maybe a little aboriginal culture at the Glooscap Heritage Centre? How about a photo opp at the Balmoral Grist Mill or start a new maple tradition at Sugar Moon Farm?...A taste test at Jost Vineyards or That Dutchman's Cheese Farm? Or how about sampling some new local attractions like the Eatonville Day use Park in Cape Chignecto Provincial Park or the Tatamagouche Creamery Square?

All of the sudden the end of summer's not looking so bad! Get out, explore, and fall in love with fall - if you haven't already.
