Computer for beginners

Computer Classes for Beginners will take place at the Springhill library. Participate in classes on keyboarding, email, web browsing and more-all free of charge.

Six-week program. Start time 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Pot luck

A pot luck supper and cards will be held at the Sunrise Seniors Hall in Lower Shinimicas, 6 p.m. Bring your own dishes and favourite food dish.

Auction 45’s

An Auction 45’s Game will be held at the Amherst 50+ Club, 52 Croft St. starting at 7:30 p.m. Everyone welcome, no partner required. Light lunch supplied.

Open Mic

Open Mic Night at the Parrsboro Bandhall. This is the winter home of the Diligent River Jam night. Donations at door. Starts at 7 p.m.

Musical evening

A musical evening will be held at the Sunrise Seniors Hall in Lower Shinimicas

from 8 to 11:15 p.m.


The R.C.A.F. Assoc. 105 Cumberland Wing,Havelock Street is having a Crib Tournament .Registration at 1 and play starts at 1:30 p.m. Bring a partner or come alone. Inquiries 667-9262.


The Knights of Columbus will host a breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. at the K of C hall on Robie Street, Amherst. Scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast and beverages.

Always wanted to paint? Now’s your chance to learn landscape painting at the Springhill Miners Memorial Library from 6 to 8 p.m. Ages 18 and up. Event is free but donations are accepted. Call 597-2211 by Jan. 14 to register. Class size is limited.
