Thanks to a caring community

This is a very difficult column to write. There are many people to thank for their kindness.

The folks who brought food, not only to my home but the food for the reception. Those who sent the many cards and phone calls, the flowers and plants all in Roy’s memory. The donations made in his honour.

Roy’s immediate family, as well as his extended family, many who came a long way to give their support.

A heartfelt thanks to all the nurses and caregivers at Parrsboro care centre. They used us like family members.

Personally, I want to thank my own family of sisters and brother, our children, grandchildren and great-grandson for being with me. To a dear sister-in-law for her continuing calls of support. To Tammi and Wayne for opening their home, to Erick and Maurice for supplying extra chairs.

And, last but not least, to Kyle Hebb, who was an enormous help in a time of need. Also a big thanks to Ross Smith. To Greg, our pastor, who without his caring and loving presence, the family wouldn’t have been able to carry on.

To all who were involved in any way, you will always be remembered. My thanks is small alongside what I have been given in kindness.
